In other news. I’m elated… and I’m not telling you why.

I really need to clean up my online stuff this weekend or during the hols.. I’ve let things slide for too long.

In all honesty, I am exhausted right now. Been running on full steam since the first semester balancing everything and suddenly I’m hit by a realization that life is so bloody fragile that we cannot focus too hard and lose sight of those around us.

I never knew the girl, but I heard so much about her. How perfect she was, the way she made him smile and felt comfortable with him. How do you comfort someone who has lost a friend so dear. How do you reconcile the fact that the world around you has not changed? How do you jokingly tell your friend to chase the girl and then 2 days later have to tell him how to handle the grief?

I never knew you, but I feel like I owe you this little prayer. May peace find you… and those who love you.

That was possibly the nicest dream I’ve had in a while. But now I’m late for class and my assignment(which I just figured I did wrongly) is due. Oh well. Looking forward to the concert tonight and poker tomorrow. Not looking forward to the 1 week crash course for my midterms. And yeah, that’s basically my life right now.

So I’ve been doing a little bit of training, a little bit of summer school, a little bit of reading and a little bit of catching up.

It feels good to just curl up on my couch with a book(Angels and Demons). It’s been a while…

Oh and yes.. Season 1 of Gossip Girl down. The bitchy-ness is almost too much to take ><

Gossip Girl is an anonymous blogger who follows the complicated lives of New York’s Upper Class. The wild parties, inane excesses and lack of boundaries that the obscenely rich enjoy. It’s all about who you know and how deep your pockets are in this world. But under all the glamor and flashing lights, there are secrets and, strangely, vulnerable hearts that seek the one thing that money cannot buy….

At every plot twist, we get to see just how dysfunctional these families  are and how relationships that are built on shaky foundations of “trust” and sex end up crumbling under the lies and manipulations of one character or another. Well, there is only so much that a romantic can dream for right?

What really makes this show interesting is that there really is no one clear hero and antagonist.. Every character is a victim and a sinner in some form or another.. And Gossip Girl is right there to expose all the gritty details of every little sin.

Remind me why I watched this again?

“it’s alright to be smarter than other people, just don’t keep telling them”. I won’t lie. Arrogent and smart asses annoy the hell out of me. We all have our moments and I certainly have had my share of primadonna moments but I do appreciate if I get told off for doing so.

It’s a sad fact that E.Q doesn’t scale very well with I.Q. The more brilliant and successful people are, the more elitist we become. It’s hard to walk the fine line between arrogence and pride. For example when we try too hard to help we appear to be insufferable know it alls. Or when we offer our knowledge, the wrong tone and choice of words would make it seem like we are flaunting our intelligence.

Certainly I think you are a smart and talented(fucker) and all that, but I certainly don’t think you are the smartest or most talented(fucker) I have met. So you can take your astronomical IQ and shove it where the sun don’t shine.

That said, I don’t think I’m a genius or that I have any right to judge or mock others. There will always be someone bigger, faster, stronger, smarter, better looking, kinder, richer, whatever than I am. But there will not be another me, a unique blend of (Aka a confused muck up of) geekiness, sensitivity, deduction and irrationality as I.

Humble. Is what we all must remember to be. Humble and answerable for what we do, say, think…

The ubisoft talk was a good insight into the life of a game programmer. Not exactly the career path I’m thinking about. But it reminded me of the portfolio I’m supposed to be creating for myself. Haha…

In a way, it’s a goal I had put aside for a while. Maybe it’s about time I “wake up my idea” and do something that will blow myself away.
